Inspiration: Character

Below are various images of characters I looked at for inspiration which helped form the character of Frank.

MARV
Marv from Sin City is a great looking character because of his bold facial features. He has a prominent nose chin and eyebrows. This is what I wish to use for Frank in as far as his facial design.

TYCHUS FINDLAY

Again Tychus Findlay from Starcraft 2 has a great looking face. He has pronounced facial features much like Marv. I find this face particularly interesting due to the way it is lit. The strong shadows provide a sense of mystery which is befitting of his character, as you never know of his intentions until the end. He is very much like Frank in the sense that he has to reluctantly carry out a terrible deed and betray his best friend in order to save himself. If he does not carry out the contract he will be killed by the very combat suite he is encased within.

MR INCREDIBLE
I love the character design of Mr Incredible as his bold features reflect his awesome power which is strength. I find his facial features interesting in terms of design as it it stylized yet still manages to emulate strength. Perhaps this is something I can try to incorporate within my character. On the outside he looks impressive and strong, but on the inside he is a sensitive soul. He regrets that he is no longer permitted to use his gifts and looks back on his younger years when he was in his prime. He believes he is missing out in life, however a contract makes him realise that the most important thing that he is missing out on is his family and that this is his true triumph in his life.

BATOU
Batou from Ghost in the Shell is another character who is intimidating on the outside but a sensitive soul. Batou again has pronounced features particularly the nose and eyebrows. Batou is a cyborg who is a member of Section 9, an elite government funded anti terrorist police unit. When Motoko Kusanagi disappears, Batou becomes a brooding recluse who longs for her return.

I guess I want to reinforce the statement,"Don't judge a book by its cover."
